The Beginning . . .

We’ve come a long way since 1910 when St. Patrick School was formed to educate the children of Irish immigrants. Since then, the lively sounds of thousands of children have echoed within the halls and classrooms of our school over the years.

Even though the names and faces are different, many things remain the same.

St. Patrick School is “Catholic” in the fullest sense of the word, welcoming all children who seek a faith-based, Christ-centered education. St. Patrick is inclusive and universal, as was the ministry of Jesus. What’s important is what’s in your heart, rather than the color of your skin, the size of your wallet, or your home address.

At the Heart of a St. Patrick Catholic Education

“Community” is at the heart of a St. Patrick Catholic education. Each child brings hopes, dreams, and talents that enrich our school community. Our “neighborhood school” draws students from all parts of Springfield.

The goal is to create a family-oriented, community environment that nurtures and stimulates the academic and spiritual growth for all the children. And each day, the students experience love, trust, and loyalty at school as they learn to treat all persons as brothers and sisters created by God.

Living in Faith

Students live and learn in an atmosphere of faith — lived out day by day. We gather together each morning to begin the day in prayer, often asking God to help those who are ill or in need.

Our School Prayer

Loving God,
we gather together today different yet equal,
all sisters and brothers in your holy family.

We give you thanks and praise for the many blessings which you have given to us.

Be with us and guide us as we pray, learn, and play.

We ask for your strength and courage to do your will,
to treat each other and ourselves with love and respect.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
